A one-way river float is one of the best ways to experience East Tennessee...but for most people, the logistics can feel overwhelming. Where do you put in? Where do you take out? How do you get back to your vehicle? Too often, those questions keep people from ever getting on the water.

For more than 20 years, the guides at Wander Appalachia have explored the rivers of East Tennessee, discovering scenic, beginner-friendly floats and sharing them with others. We’ve taken the guesswork out of the experience by creating a seamless adventure from start to finish. With carefully selected float routes, comfortable shuttle transportation, and a fleet of tandem and single kayaks, all you have to do is show up and enjoy a memorable day on the water.

You Meet Us At The
Boat Ramp/Take out
We'll pick you up! We handle all of the driving and shuttle logistics. We help you launch in a Wander Appalachia provided watercraft

We Provide all Gear + Safety orientation
All Paddles, PFD's and safety gear is provided. You Just bring a small cooler with snacks and drinks, sunglasses, and appropriate clothing + sun protection.

You float back to the takeout at your own pace
There are no rushed timelines Here! just a leisurely and scenic float back to where we picked you up. a Wander Appalachia guide will be waiting to help you get your boat off the water.
